Ernest Thornton McGaughey, youngest son of James A and Mary E. McGaughey, was born August 8, 1895 and died July 4, 1935 aged 39 years 10 months 27 days. He married January 9, 1918 to Blanche V. Hale. Survivors are the wife, twin sons Leon Hale and Leo Dale, 5 brothers, Walter L.; Lafe V; Ora E; Fred A; Tonny K McGaughey. He was preceded in death by parents and a sister Elsie Webster. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery.

Russellville, July 5 – Ernest P. McGaughey, 39, died at the Greencastle Hospital Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock. Mr. McGaughey who resided between here and Browns Valley, recently underwent an operation for gall stones, injuries received on March 14, when a truck ran over him are believed to have contributed to his death. The deceased was born near Morton on James A. and Mary E. McGaughey. He was married Jan 9, 1918 to Blanche Hale. He was a farmer and truck driver. The survivors include the wife; twin sons, Leo and Leon; and five brothers, Ora, Pony and Fred of Russellville, Walter of Brown’s Valley and Lafayette of Bainbridge. A sister, Elsie preceded him in death. The funeral services will be held at the Russellville Christian Church Saturday morning at 11 o’clock.
